jonas

So those few nights that Jonas slept REALLY well are no longer...sad I know. However, I still cannot complain because he is still doing better than the girls ever did!!! He is still getting up only few times in the night the trouble I seem to be having is getting him back to sleep. I am just getting used to very little sleep!!!

new jonas news

Jonas slept REALLY well last night. He only woke up once to eat!! At one time he slept for just over 7 hours!!! He went to bed at about 9pm then woke up around 1am to eat and didn't get up again until just after 7am (I think I woke him up while I was getting dressed). Unfortunately I still woke up around 4am (when he usually does) waiting for him to wake up wanting to eat, but he never did. I couldn't believe it. The girls never did anything like that until they were around 7 months. We will see if it lasts!!!

abby..such a good sister!!

I am still amazed from what happened last night. We were sitting down for dinner. Abby liked what we were having so she ate really well (not usually the case). Emma did not want to eat or even sit in her chair. I had to buckle her in and make her sit there until she ate SOMETHING!! I was in the process of cleaning up, Aaron was in the living room with Jonas and poor Emma was still sitting at the table crying because she wanted out of her chair. Now the amazing part...Abby comes over to Emma and tells her she needs to eat so she can play. Emma right away says "ok Abby". And then Abby feeds Emma. Aaron and I were so shocked that we just sat there listening to the two of them talk. Abby would say "open...now swallow" and "good job emma" and every once in awhile she would do the "airplane" into emma's mouth. And sure enough Emma didn't take just a few bites, but EVERYTHING that was on her plate..and she didn't cry or refuse with Abby. We are thinking of having Abby just take over from now on.

"Go Abby!!"

We just signed Abby up for soccer. Ever since she has been watching Aaron play soccer she has been begging to play too. She says that she wants everyone to say "go Abby". Luckily we found a league that takes 4 yr olds (everything else we had been looking at you have to be at least 5). She is very excited especially after we went on Saturday to sign her up and they did a few drills with her. Aaron bought her cleats and shin guards and everything so she is set. We are very excited for her first game!!

first day of school

I can't believe it has already happened...my baby has left us to go to school. She has been ready for weeks now. She got up and picked out her own clothes. She even told me exactly how she wanted me to do her hair...she must have been thinking about this for awhile now. Poor Emma thought she was going to go too (she has to do everything like Abby) She came outside with her backpack and everything thinking she was going to ride the bus and go to school. So far it has been a little weird not having Abby home. I haven't been away from her this long before (unless she is with Aaron or with good friends..but not for very long). I am just going to have to think of things to do to keep Emma busy without Abby here to play with.

slip n slide

Target has all their summer toys on sale and so we bought the slip n slide to save for next year, but Abby insisted to use it now saying that it will "make her happy" because the girl on the box was happy! So we gave in and let the girls use it now. Abby got how to do it right away, Emma is still learning. Lots of fun!!!

new dresses

Grandma Vi sent the girls new dresses for the Abby and Emma's birthday's. Just thought I would show how cute they are in them. Thanks again Vi for the dresses. Sorry about the bad picture (blame Aaron). Also Jonas updates: he is finally on a regular nightly sleep schedule (which helps me out a lot) and he also doesn't need to be held to sleep either. He will now sleep in his cradle and can even put himself to sleep if he isn't all the way asleep when I lay him down. I know these sound like small things, but are really huge milestones for us. Abby and Emma both wouldn't sleep in their own beds (I know I know..you aren't supposed to sleep with your baby, but it was the only way they would sleep) anyway, they did this until they were about 6 and 9 months old (they were just a little spoiled with being held all the time)..so at 1 1/2 weeks is awesome for Jonas!!! Now we (mostly me) are looking forward to the sleeping through the night. But the girls didn't do that either till they were about 9 and 10 months old...so we wont hold our breath just yet!!
